Doug Marteeny, Linn County's District Attorney

Meet Doug Marteeny, your publicly elected District Attorney. Doug has been elected to consecutive terms as Linn County, Oregon District Attorney.

After graduating from Rutgers Law School in New Jersey, Doug and his wife Elizabeth moved their family to Salem, Oregon, where Doug worked as a law clerk to the Honorable Carl Byers of the Oregon Tax Court. It was at the Tax Court that Doug discovered that he enjoyed trial work and being in the courtroom. When the opportunity to become a prosecutor in Lincoln County’s D.A. Office presented itself, Doug made the move where he then spent the early part of his career prosecuting misdemeanor offenses. Doug later came to work in Linn County, where he has been a prosecutor for over 19 years, and as District Attorney since 2013.

Doug has served on the board of the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, and the board of the Oregon District Attorney’s Association. However, Doug is most happy when he is home working on a wood working project, working in his garden or spending time with his wife and their five children.
