Wiley Creek Fire update— Thursday Aug. 10

Wiley Fire Update: August 10, 2023 at 6:15 p.m.

This evening’s update to the community includes an important status update from Fire Incident Command. The Wiley Fire is currently measured at 220 acres, and has 5% containment. The priority for the ODF and US Forest Service fire crews remains protecting the residences and property nearby. Due to the strong efforts by those fire crews, and an amazing list of private timber companies and contractors also fighting the Wiley Fire, Sheriff Michelle Duncan reports that no changes are warranted at this time to any in-place evacuation areas.

The public is asked to remain aware and prepared, especially as hot weather is in the forecast in the coming days.
