ALL EVACUATION LEVELS LIFTED FOR WILEY CREEK FIRE
In coordination with Wiley Creek Fire Incident Commander Chad Calderwood, Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan announces that all fire evacuation levels are LIFTED for the Wiley Creek Fire.
The containment on the fire grew by 10% since yesterday. Fire crews working on the ground have laid down significant sprinkler lines, built buffers along a majority of the perimeter that exceed 100-feet in width, and continue mop-up efforts. Smoke may be visible over the next several days, as mop-up efforts can cause smoke in the air.
The Wiley Creek Fire has reached a point in its lifecycle that administrative personnel and fire personnel are rotating roles. The community should expect to see vehicles from new agencies coming in, and existing crews rolling out of town. This is to be expected, and the oncoming crews will be continuing the great work putting out the Wiley Creek Fire, and completing mop-up efforts.
All road systems within the impacted area of the Wiley Creek remain closed to everyone except residents living within the previous LEVEL 1 area, and emergency response vehicles.
